Question Four...

I have incorporated BLOOM into my Original Blog by...
The creation of my Inspiration document. Not only have I CREATED the Inspiration drawing, but along the way, I have EVALUATED and ANALYSED the document Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Having done these three actions by using the program Inspiration, I have fulfilled the top three categories of Bloom's Taxonomy.

I have incorporated VYGOTSKY into my Original Blog by...
ANALYSING what would have been had we linked everyone's Blog's together when we were at home. Analysing is Vygotsky's main focus. By deciding and realising that it would have been far easier for us to link up at home, and giving reasons for, analysis was completed.
"To put it bluntly, it would have been a whole lot easier. Not only would people have been using their own computers, which you are automatically more at ease with, but there are more interesting and exciting things to do at home. At the same time as setting up your blog, you would have been chatting with at least one other person on MSN, would have been listening to a new song you have just downloaded on iTunes, have a game minimised, waiting for you to play; transferring some money from one account to another and surfing the net. What we have done with our 'linking up' of other people's blogs is created a learning environment; a social constructivist network. From here, now that we worked out all the difficulties, it is much easier to learn and educate from and to our contacts. It is an exciting, new and interesting way to learn and help others learn. Welcome to the future!"... www.daniniven.blogspot.com

I have incorporated GLASSER into my Original Blog by...

Making the Blog FUN. By adding elements such as an MP3 Music file and a part of one of my favourite television shows, Friends, as well as making it colourful, my original blog is fun and interesting and exciting.

I have incorporated HATTIE into my Original Blog by...

STUDENTS PRIOR COGNITIVE ABILITY. Much of this information, including concepts on Bloom, Vygotsky and even Blog's in general (I have a MySpace) was already known, but I was able to build on what I had previously learnt. For example, even though I could post pictures on MySpace, Blogger posts them differently so I put the knowledge that I had gained from a previous experience and used it learn and motivate myself to post a picture on Blogger.

Question Three...

The Best Aspect of Online Learning is...

I have found that the best aspect of online learning is the diversity of activities, resources and information that can be found from one machine. From one computer, students are now able to access the world wide web, meaning that they are now have an opportunity to be able to find and use information that would have never before been available to them before the creation of the Internet; they can also now do online lessons, through webquests, which are becoming more and more integrated into schools, which means that all teachers, new and old, need to be completely up-to-date on all the latest gadgetry and programs that are on computers; they can now become friends and exchange emails or 'comments' on MySpace with people they have never met. It seems that the world is literally at their fingertips. Resources that can be found on databases are an enormous help for assignments and where you once had to travel far and wide to find the single copy of one article written fifty years ago, now it can be on your computer screen in a few short minutes. The sheer volume of information that is available to students is overwhelming. But one important thing that has been brought to my attention whilst doing this course is to be wary of incorrect and false information. Especially when it comes to Wiki's. Absolutely anyone is able to access and put information on the internet and because of the sheer size of it, it is impossible to have someone checking that all the information on there is correct. Using reputable websites such as www.bbc.com.uk/history is a far better option when using a random site that was found off Google. Using the Board of Studies website (www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au) is also useful because it has links to several other reputable and proper websites.
There have been many new and interesting experiences from this ICT course but the main thing that I have taken out of it is the enormity and the way that, as a teacher, I have to be very specific when directing my students to websites. And very wary of the false information that is out there.

Explain why MP3 Files, Videos and Pictures make for an Interesting Blog...
MP3 Files, Videos and Pictures make a Blog interesting because they make the Blog more appealing to a wider audience and exciting to look at.
Having an MP3 File on your Blog allows a person to listen to music or a podcast while scrolling through the Blog, giving them a more enjoyable and exciting visit to the Blog.
Videos are very powerful visuals. Putting a video on a Blog is a way to capitivate an audience very quickly because immediately they are drawn to it.
Pictures in a Blog make the Blog more personal, and allows the viewer into your world.
